Hartley Sewing Machines is located in Walsall in the heart of the West Midlands where there is a long heritage of heavy industry. From the births of the industrial revolution to the modern technical era the Midlands has always been at the forefront of manufacturing.

In particular in Walsall the focus was on Saddlery, hence the nickname of the local football team 'The Saddlers'
